JennyBrown Introduces Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine

JennyBrown Introduces Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine

As consumer awareness of skincare ingredients continues to rise, identifying the right regimen for individual skin types has become a new challenge in the premium skincare market. Swiss luxury brand JennyBrown recently introduced a customized facial care approach based on in-depth analysis of user needs, designed to help consumers select a more precise skincare routine according to their skin condition.

The initiative is not a new product line but a flexible skincare pathway built on JennyBrown’s existing White Truffle Luxury Collection and Caviar Platinum Collection, combined with the brand’s long-standing expertise in sensitive skin care and natural ingredients. The brand calls it the “Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine,” covering five core steps: cleansing, essence, treatment, repair, and nourishment. Each step offers product options tailored to different skin types and needs.

Product Director Nadine Bronx explained that the brand has observed a notable trend: more consumers are no longer satisfied with single-function products and instead want to mix and match based on seasonal changes, skin fluctuations, and lifestyle adjustments. “We conducted an internal behavioral study among premium skincare users and found that more than 40 percent actively combine products from different brands or lines to achieve their desired results. That inspired us. JennyBrown’s product portfolio is streamlined, but each collection has a clear functional focus. By systematizing the combinations, we can give users a customized experience.”

The framework is built on JennyBrown’s six existing product collections, with the White Truffle and Caviar collections positioned as core recommendations. The White Truffle Luxury Collection focuses on brightening, repair, and gentle safety, using Italian white truffle extract as its key ingredient, along with active compounds such as edelweiss and sea fennel callus culture filtrate. It promotes collagen regeneration while providing soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits. The collection includes Rose Floral Water, White Truffle Essence, White Truffle Repair Lotion, and White Truffle Luxury Cream. The full set is priced at 4,990 yuan, with individual products ranging from 1,320 to 1,680 yuan.

The Caviar Platinum Collection targets anti-aging and wrinkle reduction, featuring Russian deep-sea caviar extract as its main ingredient, complemented by sea holly extract and tremella polysaccharides. It improves skin elasticity and strengthens the moisture barrier. The collection includes Caviar Platinum Essence and Caviar Essence Eye Cream. The set is priced at 2,990 yuan, with individual products at 1,520 and 1,890 yuan respectively.

In the Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine, the first step is cleansing and toning. Users can choose Rose Floral Water for initial cleansing and soothing. The second step is the core essence step: depending on whether brightening or anti-aging is the priority, users select either White Truffle Essence or Caviar Platinum Essence. The third step is deep treatment: White Truffle Repair Lotion or Caviar Essence Eye Cream can be applied to specific areas for targeted repair. The fourth step is moisturizing with a cream: White Truffle Luxury Cream provides long-lasting hydration and barrier support. The fifth step is periodic intensive nourishment: the brand recommends using Dragon’s Blood Collection products two to three times a week for deep repair, depending on skin condition. This collection is known for its high concentration of Cambodian dragon’s blood extract, which is effective in soothing sensitivity and repairing the skin barrier.

Bronx emphasized that the logic behind the routine is not simply stacking products, but based on the brand’s understanding of ingredient synergy in formulation development. “The White Truffle and Caviar collections have undergone more than 1,000 allergy tests and over 60 skin tests. Their core ingredients—white truffle extract and caviar extract—are functionally complementary, with the former focusing on brightening and repair and the latter on anti-wrinkle and firming. Both collections use natural emulsifiers and plant-derived humectants, and are free of fragrance and chemical preservatives, which reduces the risk of irritation when mixing different products.”

The market context for this initiative is closely tied to growing consumer demand for transparency and safety in premium skincare. Global Vice President Marie Keller has noted in internal discussions that today’s luxury skincare users no longer just want “expensive” or “rare” ingredients; they want to understand what each ingredient does, where it comes from, and whether it suits their skin. “We received a large number of inquiries asking whether the White Truffle and Caviar collections can be used together, or how to adjust the order during seasonal transitions. That prompted us to systematize our existing product combinations and provide a clear guidance framework.”

JennyBrown has always adhered to a “less is more” strategy in product development. The brand currently operates only eight stores worldwide, with two in mainland China at Beijing SKP and Shanghai Plaza 66. Online channels include the brand’s official website, JD.com flagship store, Tmall flagship store, Douyin flagship store, and WeChat official account store. The product line covers only facial skincare, with six collections and 16 individual products, each of which has undergone multiple iterations. This streamlined product structure actually makes it easier for consumers to combine products logically.

In terms of safety and natural ingredients, JennyBrown holds several international certifications, including ECOCERT Natural Cosmetics certification, NATRUE Organic Cosmetics certification, and the Swiss Label certification. The brand’s skin research center in Switzerland has 17 research facilities, 215 R&D personnel, and has obtained more than 80 patents and patents pending, and published 97 scientific research reports. These technical foundations provide credibility for the Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine.

For example, the brand’s Nano-Scale Molecular Delivery Technology breaks down active ingredients into nano-sized particles, increasing absorption by up to 20 times compared to conventional products. The Smart Controlled-Release Microsphere Technology encapsulates active substances in nano-sized microspheres, releasing them continuously for up to 15 hours. These technologies ensure that when different products are layered, the active ingredients are still effectively absorbed by the skin without reduced efficacy due to mismatched molecular size or release rates.

In addition, the natural emulsifiers and plant-derived humectants used in JennyBrown’s formulations are consistent across multiple collections, further reducing compatibility issues when mixing products from different lines. The brand uses lecithin and glycoside-like compounds extracted from deep-sea plants as natural emulsifiers, and natural humectants derived from sugarcane that have a composition similar to the human stratum corneum, helping maintain the skin’s moisture-binding capacity over time. The repeated use of these ingredients across multiple products means that even when users combine different collections, the risk of ingredient conflict causing skin discomfort is minimized.

For consumers, the practical value of this approach lies in reducing the cost of choice. In the premium skincare market, product efficacy claims are often highly homogeneous, making it difficult for users to determine which product suits them based solely on name or marketing copy. JennyBrown’s Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine narrows the selection to two or three options per step and provides clear recommendations based on the user’s core need—whether they prioritize brightening and repair or anti-aging and wrinkle reduction. The brand also plans to offer one-on-one skin consultations through online channels and physical stores to help users refine their combinations further.

From an industry perspective, the shift toward service-oriented and customized solutions in premium skincare is not new. But compared to personalized programs that rely on device testing or large-scale data collection, JennyBrown’s approach is closer to “streamlined customization”—using rational process design to maximize the value of existing product choices without adding more products. This aligns with the brand’s “less is more” philosophy and avoids the increased complexity and cost that often come with product line expansion.

Of course, this routine is not suitable for everyone. For consumers with extremely sensitive skin or those recovering from medical aesthetic procedures, JennyBrown still recommends starting with a single product from the White Truffle or Dragon’s Blood collections, and only trying combinations after the skin has stabilized. The brand also emphasizes that the five-step routine is a recommended framework; users can choose to follow two or three steps based on their habits and schedule, without feeling obligated to complete all steps daily.

Regional Director for Asia Robert Schmidt noted that the brand’s consumer base in mainland China is expanding rapidly, including both long-time users of the White Truffle and Caviar collections and new customers who discovered the brand through social media and word-of-mouth. “For new users, choosing the right product from six collections is a real challenge. The five-step routine helps them quickly build brand awareness while avoiding a poor experience from choosing the wrong product. For existing users, it offers room for continuous optimization, allowing them to adjust flexibly across seasons or different skin cycles.”

In terms of pricing, JennyBrown’s individual products average over 3,000 yuan, positioning the brand at the top end of the premium skincare market. However, the brand has not set an excessively high entry barrier. The White Truffle Luxury Set is priced at 4,990 yuan, and the Caviar Platinum Set at 2,990 yuan, which is mid-to-high among comparable luxury brands. The introduction of the Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine means users can start with just one or two steps based on their budget and gradually add more, lowering the psychological threshold for first-time trials.

Looking ahead, JennyBrown plans to launch a “skin matching tool” on its official WeChat account and JD.com flagship store. After filling out a simple skin condition questionnaire, users will receive personalized product combination recommendations. In-store consultations will also be available at Beijing SKP and Shanghai Plaza 66, where trained skincare advisors will help customers create tailored plans.

Behind these moves is JennyBrown’s ongoing observation of changing consumer behavior in the premium skincare market. As information transparency increases, users are shifting from brand-driven to ingredient-driven and efficacy-driven choices. Brands can no longer rely solely on brand stories and luxurious packaging to attract customers; they need to offer specific, verifiable solutions. JennyBrown’s Five-Step Precision Skincare Routine is, in this context, a systematic re-organization and presentation of the brand’s own product system.

Whether this approach will be widely accepted by the market remains to be seen through user feedback. But at least it represents an attempt: while most premium skincare brands pursue product line expansion and category coverage, JennyBrown has chosen the opposite path—deeply exploring combination possibilities within a limited product range to meet consumers’ increasingly personalized needs. This “less is more” strategy may be one of the reasons the brand maintains its unique position in the competitive high-end market.
